Christmas Holiday Crafting with the Kids
The Christmas holiday seems to be the time of year when even my less than crafty friends take time to break our the glue and glitter and get their craft on. We take off two weeks from homeschooling specifically to focus on crafting and baking. Some of our crafts are for fun decoration while others are for gift giving. Here are a few that we will be doing this year that serve as both decorations and great gifts for family.
First we will be jazzing up our doorways and windows with the cute, easy sequined snowmen and Christmas trees. Line them up on some ribbon and we have garland! Then my bigger girls will practice their pattern making skills and hand eye coordination with these star/snowflake ornaments. Next, I'll hand over the controls to my Cricut to my oldest daughter and let her go to town making these great paper ball ornaments while my little ones work on paper chain advent calendars and coloring pages. I'd LOVE to make these little life saver trains; however, something tells me they wouldn't last long with my two year old around.
It may take me until February to find my kitchen table again, with all the glitter and glue and paper that will be covering it this December. Fun will be had though, and memories made. My kitchen table can be clean when they are all grown up.
